Here I come,Paris!

I admit I have been quiet for the last few months. Many things are going on. It is too early to speak about future plans especially with some of these plans that are a bit blurry.

However, there are some news I can share. I am headed to Paris in 3 weeks for June. That includes a week in the Netherlands between The Hague and Amsterdam.

I am in need for this month in Europe after 13 months straight in Tanzania. I need to be in my tiny home, to enjoy good food, to wander in Paris, to do nice shopping.

The decision to go was taken in a few hours and hop! I have my flight ticket!

I have started to look at exhibitions and other places I wanted to visit. I already have a few items on my list. Any suggestion?

I cannot wait to make good use of the Rolleiflex and the Polaroid in Paris and Amsterdam.

I am also pretty excited to start the first part of a project I have been thinking about for a year. This project is made of 20 parts and is so exciting.

Now, I hope the weather is going to good enough!

Hello SX-70

I have a SX-70. Until now it was far from being a favorite camera. With it I only used outdated Polaroid films and first flush of Impossible Project films and the results were far from being interesting, nice or just… visible. I even thought the camera was defective (hey, I got it from ebay) until I received the latest films from the Impossible Project. The first photo I made is great! I am even more impressed as the film is supposed to be quite sensitive to heat.

I am finally genuinely in love with this piece of vintage technology.

My baby SX-70 came to life on 24 October 1975 during the A shift. You can actually get this information from the Land list site.

Times Square By Night

Just before the usual power cut:

I did not used that much my digital camera during my week in New York. I mainly used my Polaroid 600SE and the Rolleifex 2.8F. However, for the Nikon D300 I had rented from Adorama, a Nikon 14-24 2.8. What a beast! Very heavy but, oh, so great. It was a great pick for my week: 1) wide angle to photograph New York; 2) fast lens for the very bad weather!

Both photos were taken with the Polaroid SX-70 Camera with Color Push PX films. They were taken at Lake Eyasi in Tanzania.
