First impression about being back in Europe. It is cold. very cold. In March, it is quite rare.
I have been busy getting settled back in my tiny home, taking care of paperwork, decluttering and rearranging things in the apartment. I have been working on space optimization especially for my home office/creative space. I have designed my space and found the furniture. I only have to get go and buy it. That is, when the snow has melted as the area surrounding Paris is paralyzed. I know many might laugh but in Paris, we are not used to snow. Actually, it is not snowing every year. I only recall once when school got closed because of snow and cold.and it was some 26 years ago. it is also very rare to be this cold, mid-March in Paris.
I however ventured outside as I could not resist taking a few shots to save these snowy memories.
Where I was, it was mainly untouched so it still looked very nice. However, when it is going to start melting and getting all muddy, it will not be that nice, poetic and dreamy.
The bottom line is that I decided to play with my domestic goddess skills today to continue purging what I do not need anymore to make space for what will eventually arrive in about six months.
Indeed, an oversee move is not fun. My belongings will take forever to reach me. Packing was also an interesting exercise. oh, the packing itself is very easy but listing everything and anything is painful. Then there was the decision of what would go in the suitcases with me, what would go by boat, what would go by air as an unaccompanied shipment. The bottom line is that moving between two continents is not fun.
So while waiting for my belongings is not fun, it lets me some time to get organized and redecorate my home.
In the past years, I have been digitizing my CD library. So I have transformed the Ikea Benno CD shelf in my entry into a book shelf. It is ideal for pocket books and to display a few souvenirs from past travels. While the CDs are going into storage, they make space for books.
Many books are in the boat. more than 500… therefore, space is definitely needed.
Since yesterday I have been in full creative and business mode which is very nice.
Despite the cold, I went out yesterday to run some errands. The snow was not there yet but it was freezing. I admit that I might have some difficulties to adapt that fast from 35°C to 0°C.
I could not resist taking a few shots of my beautiful city.
some leftovers from Christmas or Valentine day?
and this Japanese tourist obviously enjoying freezing but so happy doing so so fashionably!
